The Steinsetz vineyard is located in the southern Kamptal, a region shaped by the original course of the Urdonau and Urtraisen rivers.
Depending on the river section and current, river pebbles ranging from small to large—primarily quartzites from the Alpine region—were deposited. In some places, a layer of loess 10–50 cm thick covers the Danube sediments.
